Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things (3vs4-5).
When ships sail, they are driven by fierce wind and though the wind might be fierce it carries the energy that will propel the ship to the next level. What the governor of a ship does is to turn the helm and the base of the ship in whatever direction he wants so that the fierce wind will assist the ship in getting to its destination. In the same way there are fierce winds that will blow in life, and we might call it adverse circumstance but know this that such wind carry the power that can propel you into the place where God has ordained. Therefore, what you have got to do is not to speak words that will cause the wind to sink your ship but speak words that will turn your life in the direction where the winds that are blowing will aid in propelling you to the fulfillment of those things. Ensure you always align yourself with the words that you speak. The bible says, When menare cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up (Job 22:29). Always align yourself with divine intelligence so that even if the wind might appear similar to your fears, you understand that it is the energy that will carry you to where you are going. Meaning the wind will propel you once you speak the right words.
For instance, if you were to study an individual growing and whose life trajectory is upward then suddenly winds begin to blow. There is now a change in the climate on the outside and then he begins to speak words of weakness, failure and opposition. He starts going against the wind blowing and the energy in the wind that should have taken him to the next level begins to act as a destructive force. So regardless of the wind that blows understand that the power is in your tongue. The intelligence here is that if there is no wind blowing then there is nothing to drive the ship faster because to a sailor once there is fierce wind they understand that they have to turn the helm of the ship in a way that will align the ship with the wind and allow it to move. You don’t go against the wind by calling the wind destructive because it will destroy the ship. In 2Corth 12vs8-10, Paul said, “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong”. You need to understand that in those areas of your life where the wind is fiercer that is where the glory of God will be revealed greatly in your life. Thus, lock your tongue to your destiny and call those things that be not as though they were. When winds begin to blow also know that it will be diverse so just keep speaking the word until it becomes still. When others say there is a casting down keep your mouth shut. Never react in anger no matter the situation. Be slow to speak, be quick to hear what God has to say and be slow to anger. Remember that the anger of men will never produce the plan and purpose of God within your life. You have to walk as an individual here and direct your words right with the intelligence of God. Go to Him in prayer and He will show you things in His word then, use your word to bring into alignment the promises of God in your life and you will find out that those wind which seem contrary to you will move you to the next level.
In conclusion, it has been discovered that the greatest blessings are always disguised in things that first of all appear as trouble. A day always starts at midnight, meaning it is still dark on the outside. Therefore, when winds blow understand that a new day is being born for you. Do not talk like a natural man who is being governed by his environment. Speak as a person that understands all things are working together for your good because of what Jesus Christ has done for you on the cross of Calvary (Rm 8:28).
