Our journey as believers is a journey of faith. And as we perfect our journey of faith, newness is released at every phase. (Psalms 33:4)
The entrance of God’s word gives light. The gateway of light into your being comes through your examination and application of the word of God. The scripture says we have a more sure word of prophecy that you will do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts (2 Peter 1:19). It is therefore in this deep study of God’s word and meditation that light begins to flood your being. This light is like honey springing forth, sweet to the soul and health to the bones (Proverbs 16:24). It is in this process that a new lease of life is released into your life.
When this light comes inside you, your walk with God becomes an easier process. Kenneth Hagin once said that the real problem with believers experiencing difficulty in their requests being answered is that people are reaching for things that God never promised them. I am not referring to your claim of ‘hearing voices’, discard that. You don’t start your walk in faith by saying “I heard a voice that told me…” etc. Using the example of John the Baptist as a case study for this. John didn’t just appear on the scene and claim God spoke to him and on the basis of that, the people should accept his ministry. Rather, he started off saying, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing…”. Also, as with the example of the day of Pentecost when there was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the disciples cited the scripture and said ‘’this is that which is written in the book of Joel”. We ought to get to a point like Kenneth Copeland puts it; God will speak not with a loud voice but with a strong word in your spirit. Which means the written word of God will be strong and bear witness to your spirit as to the direction to go or the right decisions to make.
You will get to a point where you’ll start hearing the voice of God in your spirit that is consistent with the written word of God and through that, you will be able to judge what you’re hearing to be accurate and right. Therefore, your true fulfillment as a person of faith starts and ends with the written word of God. Get the written word of God on the inside of yourself and will begin to record advancements in your life that hitherto seemed unattainable.
