The Covenant Nation was dedicated in 1994 as Covenant Christian Centre and has flourished and grown into a church without walls.
Embracing the next phase of the work of the ministry, saw the change in the name and logo of this assembly in January 2020 by the Senior pastor and founder, Pastor ‘Poju Oyemade.
The Ministry places strong emphasis on a personal relationship with Christ and communion with Him through the Word (the Bible) and this is consistently communicated from the pulpit. Practical insights on how to live and grow in the Christian faith is taught and encouraged in daily life, which makes an impact and difference in the world.
With Sunday attendance in more than twenty(20) centers running into thousands and a large online community and followers that identify with the ministry, this modern-day congregation has members all over the nation, in the UK, United States, Canada, and many more countries around the world. The UK and New York church branches also add their flavor to these diverse demographics.
The Ministry caters to congregants down to the individual level with its small groups systems; Life Fellowships (Prayer Cells) and Covenant Community Groups, which give the needed personal care to members. This can be as intimate as they so desire, with the spiritual, relational and some material needs attended to by these groups.
As a member of the larger body of Christ, the Covenant Nation heeds the call to ‘go make disciples of all nations’ (Matt 28:19) through its events and programs like The World Faith Believer’s Convention (WOFBEC), International Conference for Pastors, Ministers, Leaders and Workers (ICPLMW), The Platform (a National Development conference) and various community initiatives like Lagos Sees (Free Medical Eye Care to host communities), Edu-Aid (providing assistance to Public Primary Schools), Project WRAP (providing assistance to widows and families of deceased service personnel), Covenant Capital Business School (CCBS), The Lagos Career Fair and more.
The fulfillment of that mission takes place when those believers become rooted and grounded enough in God’s word to reach out and teach others these same principles.
We are called to lead people, primarily born-again believers, to the place where they operate proficiently in biblical principles of faith,
love, healing, prosperity; redemption and righteousness, and to the place where they can share those principles with others.
We are called to assist believers in becoming rooted, grounded and established in the word of God by teaching them to give God’s word first place in their lives. (Colossians 1:23; Psalm 112).
We are called to reveal mysteries, victorious revelations of God’s word, that have been hidden from ages (Colossians 1:25-28).
We are called to build an army of mature believers bringing them from milk to meat, from religion to reality. We are called to train them to become skillful in the word of righteousness, to stand firm in the spiritual warfare against the kingdom of darkness (Hebrews 5:12-14; Ephesians 6:10-28).
We are called to proclaim, ‘Jesus is Lord’ from the top of the world to the bottom and all the way around.
Pastor Poju Oyemade is the Senior Pastor and Founder of The Covenant Nation (TCN) – a ministry founded in 1994 and headquartered in Lagos Nigeria, where he oversees a dynamic community of believers who attend any of its services every week or join in on its online platforms.
He is a highly regarded teacher of the Word of Faith, who draws out insightful lessons from God’s word that are applicable to the complexities of everyday life, family, business, and nation building. His messages are both transformational and trans generational, finding relevance across all walks of life.
Pastor Poju Oyemade’s call to ministry dates to his time as an undergraduate at the University of Lagos and was ordained into ministry by Bishop David Oyedepo, the presiding bishop of Living Faith Ministries Worldwide (a.k.a Winner’s Chapel).
He has been consistently described as a bridge in the Christian community in Nigeria; a link between the older generation of Christian trailblazers in the country and the younger generation; between entrepreneurs and professionals in business; as well as between the government and the governed. In this regard, he convenes three flagship events annually:
The World Faith Believers Convention (WOFBEC) – an annual prophetic gathering of teachers of the word of faith in the body of Christ globally, with the aim to instruct and impart on the younger generation, teaching the origins of the faith and transferring the prophetic mantle to the coming generation.
The Platform Nigeria – a non-political, non-partisan national development Fair which holds as a global media event on Workers’ Day (May 1) and Nigeria’s Independence Day (October 1), hosting speakers from the highest levels of the nation’s leadership and leaders in Global policy practice.
The International Conference for Pastors, Ministers, Leaders and Workers (ICPLMW) – a capacity development event organised to teach strategic Church organization and Management and inspire the right values for the work of Ministry.
Pastor Poju is also incredibly open to innovation embracing technology and other media to reach humanity with the gospel of Jesus Christ. His digital engagements reach millions of followers globally across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and on the Church’s website insightsforliving.org. He hosts the regular TV programs ‘Insights for Living’ and the ‘The Quantum Leap’ on various TV stations around the nation and in the UK.
Pastor Poju is happily married to Pastor Toyin – who is also a dynamic teacher of the word, filmmaker, and content-creator.
