SENSE OF WORTH

S

For who hath despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth. (Zechariah 4:10)

The scripture above talks about the ‘eyes of the Lord’ i.e. the ways in which God wants us to look at every situation or challenge we are faced with. God wants us to rejoice always; even though we might appear small and insignificant. We must rejoice in the value that has not been seen yet by anyone. Meaning you take those ‘small beginnings’ (i.e. ‘what is this among so many’?) and rejoice over it.

When you meet people going through challenges, do not treat them with contempt or make them think less of themselves. When you value yourself even if people ignore you, you know that it does not change the opinion you have about yourself on the inside because you believe in your worth. You believe that time is going to show what you are seeing on the inside of yourself. You believe as the bible says ‘more are the children of the desolate than the married one’ (Isaiah 54:1). The truth of the matter is God will not invest the blood of Jesus in someone that does not have worth. So believe in yourself and what God has called you to be.

Therefore, instead of you looking at the outward circumstances rather take the word and rejoice. This is not an external thing – you are not trying to control another person’s life or show you’re a big man but it is about the sense of worth you have for yourself within. People go to work and feel that someone else working in another place is better off than them. They take their business card and hide it because of an inferiority complex; nothing is going to come out if you do things that way. You look at the land you have; you take it and offer it with a sacrifice of praise.  Rejoice over it as though this is the best place there is; and come to that position inside your heart. This is what God is looking for; a grateful heart. He looks around to find someone whose life He can show forth His glory. That is an individual who is on a dry ground but is rejoicing and thanking Him because he sees the value on that dry ground.

But if you have no sense of worth the truth about the matter is this, no matter the message they preach to you or miracles performed, you will continue to doubt yourself and the power of God in your life. For instance, it did not matter the signs and wonders God did for the nation of Israel once they had arrived on the inside of themselves that they were less than the Egyptians they saw themselves that way. And until that changed nothing else was going to change on the outside. So the change starts with you as a person wherever you are; whatever you are doing see the worth in it. The point is not the size rather the point is in the power of an individual who is able to look at  one thing and then say to himself, what is this among so many. The power is also in the person that goes to work and understands that he has been bought with the blood of Jesus Christ; so he knows there is something more to him because God will not make that kind of investment if there was nothing more to him.
