Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass (Psalms 37:7). This portion of scripture encourages us not to get desperate and seek results at all costs. Rather it teaches us to cease from manipulations and understand the principle of the kingdom i.e. how to sow the seed in order to get the harvest. Get yourself practically involved and tuned in to what is happening around you. Help other people get their needs met. Look out there and simply do the same thing you are looking to God for unto others. For example if you see somebody carrying something that is too heavy, no matter the age, lend a helping hand, whether in the office or elsewhere. These are the little things that you do that allow the entrance of the presence of God into your physical space. It also brings about the materialization of the dream that is within your heart. It is these little things that you do as an individual with a pure heart when no one is looking, that count the most in the presence of God.
There is a law in life that when you give and let go (no strings attached) that you will reap in ways you least expect. The reason why people are not being rewarded for helping others is probably because there were conditions attached to what they did. Do not give and expect something back because the reward from God comes when you release without selfish expectation. In a definite way in accordance to the principle of God, one day you will realise that everything you did came back to you. This means that you will remember the day you helped someone who had a setback when someone else helps you when you have a setback, and then you will understand that you have been rewarded. It will surely come back and when it does, you will be able to trace where it came out of. That is why God said to give to the poor (Deuteronomy 15:11), because He knows you cannot expect anything from the poor. This is because He knows the poor cannot help you therefore you cannot expect anything back.
The trend of humanity is to spend little on the poor and a lot on rich people who are expected to return the favour. This is the wrong mind set, focus instead and place emphasis on helping weak people that you know cannot return the favour. Everything in life comes back that way; it is simply the law of sowing and reaping. Everything comes back as long as you do not attach anything to your giving. When you give to people, walk away without any expectation. Do the same thing with your seed, sow and walk away.
