‘But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands.’
Hebrews 2:6-7 David wrote in the Psalms that “what is man that thou art mindful of him”, meaning God’s mind is full of man. This is to say when we get
into conversation with someone about anything and the names of certain people keeps recurring; it means that you are totally captivated by them.
When someone is in love the person’s mind is full of their object of interest.
We need to fully comprehend this thought to grasp the true intent of the scripture. We may wonder …”God where are you if you are so mindful of me.”
God says in his faithfulness “I will come and I will visit you” For everyone its either you have a visitation from God ongoing, or you are in the cycle of the
last visitation because everything has not yet come to pass. Or perhaps God is showing up very soon again, for the new, as God visits his people.
The question then is ‘do people recognize God when He shows up within their life? You don’t have to ask Him to come, He comes; and that is why Jesus said
‘when I come and I knock…’ (Rev 3vs20). He does not need any authorization to knock but he does require that you open so that He can do in your life
what the visitation is about. The prerogative of visitation is God’s, we have no say over that, and God visits.
The Bible says ‘for God so loved the world (He did not ask us) that he sent His only begotten Son’ (John 3:16), He did not need us to pray to send,
He came. What He needs us to do now is to receive, the bible says ‘for as many as received’ He gave…. (Jh1vs12). It is one thing for God to come and
knock on your door (He is right there in your life, you just need to unveil him and by so doing you’d see what is going on and step into the miraculous)
it is another thing for you to open your door. I can come to visit in your house, you don’t have to invite me but if you do not want me in your house,
you will leave me at the door. So anyone can knock but you will have to open for the person to enter. The same way someone can give you something and
you can reject it so also God can visit and you can keep your door shut on Him. It is God from the beginning and His mind is full of you.
It is now left for you to understand the visitation of God and to open up that door to enable Him come in and do what he came to do.
Jesus told the people of Jerusalem ‘the things that now make for your peace are hidden from your eyes because you have missed the time of your visitation’
Luke 19:42. This means that the benefits that was to come into their lives they missed because when the time of their visitation came, they did not recognize
it and so they missed the time of their visitation. With the visitation of God, there comes the opening of the eyes of the people to see certain things;
He comes in to open your eyes so that the things that make for your peace –that is prosperity or satisfactory progress will be made visible to you.
When God comes and You open up the door for Him, there are things that you may have been praying about and He comes and serves you, Jesus said ‘I and my father
will come and serve’. In His visitation He is coming with provisions to help accomplish even things you were not thinking about as He just wants to come and
unleash these things in your life. The point is we don’t ever have to ask Him but he comes and quite often. Do we recognize the visitation of God?
It is paramount that we understand it because God can come in and the individual can be a bible scholar and know Greek or Hebrew but yet cannot recognize God
and what He’s doing or about to do in their daily life. A person can be vast in the scriptures yet can’t see the true and living God within their life.
An example is after Jesus resurrected and he was walking with two men, He asked them ‘ why is your countenance down?’ and they said to him ’are you new in town,
haven’t you heard about the man Jesus that died?’ yet Jesus was with them. The way God visits is never the way we think He should come and the truth is,
the bible says that people get offended at the place of their appointment. The king of kings and the Lord of Lords, the Messiah, the one humanity has been
waiting for, He was born in a manger where animals are kept; that’s not where you’d think that the God of glory should be born. Our social intelligence will
find that repulsive,how can you allow that. When Jesus enters into some lives they say they cannot go here or there or do certain things because of their status;
you can look at that and miss God. The bible says for some, Christ can be a rock of offense,a stumbling block…..’, so you can find the way He has chosen His
visitation in your life offensive and say how can He come in this way….”but nonetheless He comes and visits us.
