2 Peter 3:9; 2 Corinthians 6:2
Intercession is also referred to as ‘believing prayer’. The waiting period is the process God has designed for us to grow into the stature of Christ.
Through this process, you begin to develop and grow as a person. You must understand that God is more concerned about your growth and character development than manifestation. In fact, if you get certain blessings without character development, the end of it might make you worse off. For instance, if you get suddenly exposed to some measure of financial increase without commensurate character and maturity to handle it, you may lose all the money and be damaged, or not lose all the money but with the money, you create problems for yourself that money cannot solve. This is why you find some people getting hooked on drugs and other harmful substances and living reckless lifestyles.
It has been discovered that one of the greatest lures in society for men is when men have disposable income, meaning when a man has more cash than he can spend. If you currently find yourself in that situation, stay calm, seek out mentors whose counsels can help you make wise decisions that will preserve you and your life.
It is the potential/tendency of exhibiting vices like this in the place of prosperity that God uses the waiting period to purge us of, so as to ensure that new wine is not poured into old wineskins.
To those of you who might have made financial mistakes in the past and you have lost money, the good news I have for you is you are in God’s perfect will. If you repent, then God will come again with fresh money but this time, He expects you to keep lessons learnt from past mistakes to heart. This is what is called the Law of Second Approach.
There are examples of this all over the scriptures: the first attempt at carrying the ark failed, the second attempt was successful; the first attempt with Abraham getting a child produced Ishmael, the second attempt produced Isaac; the first man God Himself created failed, second Adam succeeded. That is the law of the second approach. So, if you have missed it before, there are second chances in God.
While you grow in character and maturity during this period, God also helps you grow in wisdom, managing people and managing success– spiritual and physical.
