“Thus saith the Lord, keep judgment and justice, for my salvation is near to come and my righteousness to be revealed.” (Isaiah 56:1)
Things do go wrong in life sometimes but God promises His salvation and righteousness will restore everything that goes wrong within the affairs of His children. He will set things right by Himself. He will reveal His salvation and righteousness just like He did to Naomi and Ruth but you have to keep judgment and do justice.
The word judgment means to consciously make sure you do things the right way especially when dealing with people. For instance, Abraham kept judgment and justice when he dealt with Lot. He went to God for direction on how to relate with Lot and all the strife coming into his space. In so doing, Abraham exercised judgment and justice on the matter. This is the kind of issue Jesus referred to as the ‘weightier matter of the law’ needing to be attended to. Solomon asked God for a wise and understanding heart (for justice and judgment in his dealings) instead of wealth or abundance. It is very important that your relationship with people show judgment and justice in all matters. This is about you doing the right thing and making sure it is done in the right way and manner. In treating people right and handling things the right way, God begins to set things right in your own life too. He also starts to restore things you have lost. You attract divine favour.
Whenever you get to places or points in life where there is serious controversy, know it is a test from God who wants to see how you will handle that issue. Always pray to God to help you keep the covenant of peace- that is, a place where you have no hurt in your heart against anybody. Ensure you take the right decisions to execute the judgment and justice on whatever matter. And when you do not know exactly what to do, be patient, ask God to show you and help you do the right thingin the cause of your interaction with those involved.
Take note of people around you and with calmness of heart, ask God for direction and grace to do the right thing as you relate with them. Then, do as He says! Remember, when people offer you help, support or assist you in any way, take note of those favours. In future, you may need to help others or even the same set of people. That is judgment and justice. Look at things critically and weigh them in your heart to apply judgment and justice.
David got to the throne by justice, judgment and wisdom. Wisdom says I will show you the path to right judgment, right decision making and justice. Your act of judgment and justice will bring equity, honour, riches and wealth into your house.
