The Power of Triumphant Faith

Bible Reading: Matthew 7:7-11

Prayer should be seen as a process. A process of us understanding how the laws of the Kingdom operate.

When praying, pray with understanding not mindlessly. You can even go further by noting the day you offered that prayer and believe that on that particular date, your request has been handed over to you. You believe you have taken possession of it from that day! This is the perfect law of breakthrough. You pray it out unto God and believe that you have received that particular thing at that same moment.

Daniel 9 verse 2 gives us a further understanding of prayer requests. “…in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of years specified by the word of the Lord, given through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolation of Jerusalem”. In other words, through books, prophetic thoughts and lessons shared by people, we can come to understand what is in the scripture. Daniel came to understand that they were going to spend 70 years in Babylon and they had gotten to the 70th year. Now, that was the will of God and he discovered it. The only way the will of God will come to pass on the earth is that somebody asks God to fulfil in and through them what He has willed to do.

For prayer is, “thy will be done on the earth and as it is in heaven.” A lot of mistakes that people of faith make is that they believe that ‘because I have everything in Christ, I do not have to pray for anything in particular again’. They think because God has made Christ wisdom to us, then we do not have to ask. However, that is not what the scripture teaches. It teaches that because this provision has been made, you can therefore confidently make a request for a deposit of that thing in your own life.

Take the teachings of Paul for instance, there is nothing that Paul taught had been given to us in Christ that he did not pray for when he had a need for it. The Bible says the love of Jesus has been shed abroad in our hearts in abundance by the Holy Ghost, but still, Paul prayed that the church will abound more and more in love, in all judgement, in all knowledge, that they might approve things that are excellent and be sincere. He still asks that God should fulfil in you what He has wrought in Christ.

In other words, all of this clearly depicts that prayer will reveal what has been done in Christ to manifest in your own flesh here on the earth.
